End of Season Information - All Grades

13 Aug

Mainland have provided detail on the end of season for all grades. Here's the information we received from Mainland:

Juniors:

As set out at the start of the season, we schedule for 15 playing rounds for our Junior Competitions across a window of around 18 weeks. Ordinarily each year we have 2-3 postponements due to the weather which is built into our season window. We have been quite fortunate in that we have only had to make one postponement so far this year. As such, Junior football is currently set to end on the 24th of August if there are no more postponements. But please note that any further weather postponements will mean these fixtures will be pushed back as required.

We do have fields booked for the two weekends following the 24th, but two weeks does not provide enough of a window to run a further competition. After discussing our potential options, we have decided that we will not schedule any further official games following the currently scheduled competition.

Note: Our Juniors in our in-house Centennial competition (First Kicks through to 9th Grade) will finish on Saturday 7th September with a mini-world cup.

Youth:

Typically, we look to schedule 15 League playing rounds followed by a Cup for our Youth competitions (which is dependent on the weeks remaining). Ordinarily each year we have 2-3 postponements due to the weather which is built into our season window. We have been quite fortunate in that we have only had to make one postponement so far this year. As such, Youth football is currently set to end on the 24th of August if there are no more postponements (excluding 19th grade boys, CDL and 16th grade girls Div 1). While we cannot run a full Cup competition (due to the weeks left) we have decided to hold a finals round to provide a short Cup to finish the season.

These Finals, which will take place on the 31st of August (subject to weather), will be one off games, with 1st vs 2nd, 3rd vs 4th etc (from the finished league tables).

13th grade div 4 competition: and I just wanted to clear up any confusion for all those who are involved.

Currently this competition is set to finish on the 7th of September, this is due to an extra team being added in, which meant the competition would run longer than all other youth grades (as it has more teams).

There was an oversight from us, as when I sent the end of season football update on the 12th of August, I forgot to mention that this grade did not finish on the 24th of August (like the majority of youth football).

Therefore, to clarify, this grade has two more scheduled game weekends before the season is finished (as on the Mainland website).

Please note that this extra weekend will be a separate competition. League winners will still be decided by the final league tables.

Senior Mens:

We have managed to run all playing rounds as set out at the start of the season. As such, senior football is currently set to end on the 17th of August, if there are no more postponements (excluding men’s division 2). Please note that any further weather postponements will mean these fixtures will be pushed back. Therefore, there will be no further official matches scheduled after the 17th of August. I will be sending out comms regarding the Charity Cups to clubs shortly, but Charity Cups are scheduled for the 24th of August, except for the Cup Finals which will be held on the 31st of August at English Park, as part of our Charity Cup finals day.

Senior Women’s:

All Women’s Football is set to finish on either the 24th or 31st of August, if there are no more postponements. Please note that any further weather postponements will mean these fixtures will be pushed back. Therefore, there will be no further official matches scheduled after the currently scheduled fixtures.

As we have booked the grounds, we will leave it with clubs to discuss and organise friendlies (for the weekends of the 31st of August, and 7th of September) should anyone wish to continue playing.

Masters:

All Masters (excluding 35+ Conference and 50+ Div 1) are now into their Cups to finish off the year. These Cup competitions are scheduled to finish on the 24th of August and will be the last scheduled games for these divisions. With regards to the Master 35+ conference and Masters 50+ Div 1 teams, I will send out comms regarding these two grades shortly.
