As the only Club on the South Island with a full-time Women & Girls Development Officer, Cashmere Technical is investing in all areas of our Women & Girls Pathway.

Our Women’s Pre-Season begins on Monday 3rd February at Garrick Park at 6:30pm-8:00pm. Sessions will run every Monday and Wednesday for four weeks before the teams are selected. These sessions are free to attend and open to female players aged 16 and above of all ability levels.

Our Women’s First Team dominates the South Island League, reigning as the 2023 Reta Fitzpatrick Cup and South Island League Champions. With a strong community focus, they mentor and coach younger players, fostering the next generation of talent. Alongside them, the Women’s Reserve Team competes in the Canterbury Women’s Premiership, providing a crucial pathway for academy graduates aspiring to join the First Team. Our Girls Pre Academy and Academy Teams offer structured pathways for players to grow and excel. The Under 14 and Under 16 Girls Academy Teams train twice a week with C-Licence coaches, benefiting from strength and conditioning sessions, video analysis, and refereed home games. For younger players, the Girls Only Skills Centre program provides a free, fun, and supportive environment to build technical skills. Open to girls aged 7–14, sessions run on Wednesdays at Somerfield Park from 3:45 PM – 4:45 PM.
MILO Fantails is the ideal program for introducing young girls to football aged 4–12 to football in a fun, supportive environment. Combining skill-building with life lessons, this program is designed to help participants grow both on and off the field, empowering them to be bold, brave, and kind. Girls will learn the fundamentals of football while developing teamwork, confidence, and resilience in a positive atmosphere.
2025 Term 1 MILO Fantails will run every Wednesday for 6 weeks from 3:45pm-4:30pm at Somerfield Park, beginning on Wednesday March 5th and finishing on April 9th.
The cost for the program is $30 per term.
At CTFC, we know girls thrive in sport when they feel comfortable, confident, and empowered. That’s why we offer both girls-only and mixed teams and training options - to provide our players with the ability to choose what works best for them.
Our girls-only Skill Centre sessions run every term on Wednesdays, led by our Women & Girls Development Officer with support from Women's Reserve and First Team players. Skill Centre suits confident players looking to build on key skills.
