March is girls & womens month!

girls & womens month at ctfc

CTFC is excited to share a full month of activities and events through March to celebrate Girls & Womens Month in Football! This month is all about celebrating, supporting, and growing the women’s game at every level. From young girls just starting their football journey to elite players competing at the highest level, Girls and Women’s Month is a chance to highlight the incredible talent, dedication, and passion within our football community.

Throughout March, clubs, schools, and communities across New Zealand will host events, training sessions, and initiatives designed to encourage more girls and women to get involved—whether as players, coaches, referees, or supporters. It’s about creating opportunities, breaking barriers, and ensuring that football is a game for everyone.

We kick off the month with our Womens Leadership Panel on Thursday 6th March, 5.30 to 6.30pm with the opportunity to talk to and hear stories from successful female players in the game. Please register your interest here.

Junior & youth

CTFC offers a range of fun to competitive community football within the Junior & Youth space for players aged 4 to 35.

Our club offers both mixed-sex and girls-only teams, giving young girls the opportunity to choose the environment that best suits their confidence, skill level, and personal preference.

Some girls thrive in mixed teams, enjoying the challenge and diversity of play, while others feel more confident and engaged in a girls-only setting, where they can develop skills alongside peers with shared experiences. By providing this choice, we remove barriers to participation, keep more players in the game, and create a positive, inclusive football experience where everyone can reach their full potential.

Girls-only teams are dual-banded (includes multiple age groups) and found in the following grades:

  • 8th Grade: players aged 7-9
  • 10th Grade: players aged 8-10
  • 12th Grade: players aged 11-12
  • 14th Grade: players aged 12-14
  • 16th Grade: players aged 14-17

If you would like your player to enter a Girls-Only team, please select a Girls-Only membership when registering your player.
