Fun Football: 7 - 9 Years

Mastering the Ball via Playful Technical Training.

Fun Football continues the theme of incorporating small sided games (5 aside for 7th and 8th grades and 7 aside for 9th grade) with minimal interference from parents and game leaders but incorporating fun throughout the morning.

Players can be taught basic techniques through exposure to small games that have specific technical outcomes whilst still allowing the freedom of flair and creativity to develop. It is important here to keep the adult pressure of ‘winning’ out of Fun Football, to encourage skill development.

We run "Girls Only" teams (a mixture of 8th and 9th Grade players) in our 8th Grade session. 

Details

The season begins on Saturday 29th April and finishes on Saturday 2nd September.  There is no football over the middle weekend of the school holidays Saturday 8th July and Matariki wekend (Saturday 15th July)!

9th grade teams arrive at 8.30 am for a warm up with games starting at 9 am.

8th grade, and our Girls Only teams start at 10am with a drill and then play two x 20 minute games at 10.25 and 10.50 am. 

7th grade teams start at 10.50 am with two drills followed by a game.

Shin Pads are compulsory for all players, 2nd named team on the draw to wear bibs. All Glasses worn during practice or games must be safety approved.

Strip

Your players will be provided with a CTFC shirt, which needs to be returned at the end of the season.  They will need shin pads, boots, CTFC shorts and socks.  These are available through our website and also at Anderson and Hill. 

Cancellations
Cancellations for Cashmere Technical Development Grades (7th, 8th and 9th Grade) are advised on our website. This competition is run by our club, not by Mainland Football, therefore Mainland Football cancellations do not cover this competition.
